Poetry | Tiles Of Perfection

Saline streams soaked her pillow
Leaving trails of blackened paint
Scars from yesteryear
Left a heart beating, albeit distant & faint

Cries challenging the constant
Despair leading the way
Fragments of a picture imperfectly painted
Bound by an amaranthine ray

Getting back up, only to falter
Peering backwards, all the while moving ahead
Clip, clout, cuff
Wake up immortal, it’s time to get out of bed

The new dawn was dimly lit by LCD
Shuffling the tiles, as to choose a rally
When a snowman appeared majestically before her
In an instant, she knew she’d found her tally

Forlorn no longer
Passion’s incandescence illuminates
Laughter fills the empty corridors
A kindred spirit patiently awaits

“Fear not my child”, her heart whispered
It’s time to come out and play
I promise not to fool you
This time the puzzle pieces will remain

Now bliss fluffs her tear stained pillow
And the bête noire has finally been erased
Effervescence is all surrounding
At long last she’s found her place.
